Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified.
Haggai 1:8.
And He said to them, “go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Mark 16:1
This words were said by our Lord Jesus Christ to the disciples, after teaching them over the three years of His ministry in the world, He commissioned them and send them to teach all the nations of the world whatever they had learned from Him, teaching the people of the world to observe all thing the Lord had commanded them after baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and of the Holy Ghost. –Mathew 28:18-20, and in this way repentance and forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed to all nations in Jesus name, starting from Jerusalem, –Luke 24:47.
Evangelists are doing a great job carrying out Jesus’ directives, the disciples were commissioned to make other disciples all over the world, and the new disciples would still make other disciples to make other disciples. This continues unto this day, that’s why we have evangelists.
1844 was Kenya’s turn, in this year C.M.S. East Africa was founded and a mission center set up at Rabai, a few miles from Mombasa, Kenya’s coast. Two Germans, Dr. Johann Ludwig Krapf and his wife Rosina were the first missionaries to come to East Africa. Rosina gave birth to a baby girl just weeks after arrival and shortly after wards she succumbed to puerperal fever. Two days later Johann lost his daughter too. this was quite unfortunate. Dr Krapf was left alone as the only missionary in East Africa until two years later when another German, Johann Rebmann, arrived. After some time Rebmann was married to an English missionary serving in Egypt. She was a widow, ten years older than he was. They would later be left behind after Dr. Krapf left due to hea;th issues.
This were the first missionaries in Kenya, others would join them from time to time and with time the Gospel of Christ spread in East Africa. Today Christianity is the widely spread religion in East Africa, but the work is not yet finished, there are still villages which are yet to be reached, and if reached, they don’t have Churches.
After being baptized, Christ made it clear that people should be taught to observe all the things the Lord had commanded the disciples, this necessitates the need for churches in the villages which do not have any. This is the main reason team scoop and fly was at Matangi. God raised someone who saw the need of a church at Matangi, God raised another, who went to the up to the mountains and brought wood, now there are building blocks at the construction site ready to build a house for the Lord.
While evangelizing at Matangi, team scoop and fly decided to help build the house of the Lord, they had no money to support the work with, but God has blessed them, they are not crippled and are of good health. So the team decided to give themselves to the service of the most high God. For two days we dug out the Foundation for the Church construction.
later that night we had a fellowship with some community members at Pst. Peter Ishmael’s home, which is adjacent to the Church ground. afterwards we showed them a cinema on the story of David and Goliath.
